Wedding Programs - Organizing A Creative Theme

Author: Jennifer Clark

The wedding program is a growing trend. Many brides and grooms are choosing a unique way to present their wedding to family and guests. They are looking for a way to organize a theme into a compact delivery and communication system that begins with the invitations and ends with the thank-you-cards.

A theme is usually characteristic of any wedding. Many brides choose the theme after deciding on colors for the wedding. Themes can be inspired by unique designs, exotic tastes, cultures, or just wanting something "different" from the norm. Many things will be considered. Certainly wedding traditions are important to any bride and groom. But they will also need to decide on parties, showers, photos and videos, and flowers.

Wedding programs carry the theme into a sort of booklet that informs family and guests about your plans for the ceremony and what to expect during the ceremony. The program for the wedding should include communications about details of the ceremony, but can also include many other creative details.

Some of the details that are appropriate to include in a wedding program or booklet is a favorite or original poem, the vows in print, an outline of all the wedding preparations, or even baby pictures! They can also express gratitude to certain key individuals who made your wedding day possible. Other details for wedding programs can include how the bride and groom met, favorite vintage belongings used in the ceremony, family ancestory, and favorite songs of the bride and groom.

Many wedding gifts are presented to the couple after their wedding by friends who could not attend. The wedding program can be sent to those who respond "unable to attend" which gives them an opportunity for ideas about gifts!

There is so much planning that goes into a meaningful ceremony that will represent your emotions about the treasured wedding day. Reduce the amount of chaos by organizing the wedding from the very beginning. Create wedding programs!
